Youth COVIDeo Contest about Agriculture
The Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA), a non-profit organization which has a headquarter based in the Philippines, has launched a competition related to agriculture.
One of the SEARCA's main objectives on its 11th Five-Year Plan is to create platforms for youth to share their innovative ideas and solutions on how to sustainably produce food in the Southeast Asian countries.
SEARCA’s Young Forces For Agricultural Innovation (#Y4AGRI) is an initiative to encourage the interests and tap into the talents of young people to seek solutions for agricultural development. To accomplish the goal of providing a platform for the youth’s interests to be heard and a celebration for the International Youth Day on August 12, #Y4AGRI is creating a Youth COVIDeo Contest for the Southeast Asian youth to share their local plantation techniques.
According to the Ministry of Information, the competition is also opened to Cambodian youth aged 15-35 years old. The video can be made in groups or an individual and should share some useful tips and techniques related to agriculture, especially during the pandemic. This would be a great opportunity, especially for students studying Agriculture to help share their ideas and further learn about how local food is produced.
