Hong Kong's May-July Unemployment Eases to 6.1%

HONG KONG (Reuters) - Hong Kong's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell slightly to 6.1% in the May-to-July period, as the coronavirus outbreak restricted activity in an economy already in recession.

The jobless rate from April to June was 6.2%.

The underemployment rate decreased to 3.5%, from 3.7% in the previous three-month rolling period. The number of unemployed rose by about 1,800 people to 242,500 in the period.
