Cambodian Government Lowers Petroleum Price this month
Cambodian government has decided to lower petroleum price for 4 cents per liter from 16th June till 30th June, meanwhile the international market price surges compared to the previous month.
According to an official announcement issuded on 16 June 2020 by Ministry of Commerce, average retail price for gasolin on international market will be benchmarked to 3010 riels per liter and 2774 riels for diesel from 16th June until 30th June 2020.
For international market price of petroleum in June, the price for gasoline was 2660 riels per liter and 2460 riels per liter for diesel which means that the price of gasoline has increased by 350 riels per liter and price for diesel has increased by 314 riels per liter.
However, in order to help ease the economic conditions of many Cambodians, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, in effective cooperation with local retailing petroleum companies, officially decided to cut the price of retailing price of petroleum by 4 cents per liter.
Therefore, the benchmark price will be 2850 riels per liter for gasoline and 2600 riels per liter for diesel .
