Cambodia to ban all flights from Indonesia and Malaysia
The Ministry of Health of Cambodia announced that Cambodia will ban all flights from Indonesia and Malaysia in order to contain the spread of coronavirus from August 1 onwards.
In an announcement issued yesterday, Prime Minister Hun Sen approved the request to temporarily ban the flights. It will take effect on August 1.
The ban aims to curb the spread of COVID-19 after 108 cases tested positive for Covid-19 arrived in Cambodian via Indonesia and Malaysia flights. The ban also comes to curb the spread of the pandemic because Cambodia will celebrate Khmer New Year holiday in August.
As of today, Cambodian has had a tally of 225, 143 of whom were discharged from hospitals.
