Kahil Gibran: “Love Knows not its Own Depth Until the Hour of Separation”

Love is a dangerous drug. Once you are addicted to it, you stop caring about everything else around you. There is an English proverb that goes “love is blind”. Love can drive you crazy and make you do things you’d never do before. However, sometimes people are ignorant of love and they take it for granted. They don’t realize the values of love until they don’t have it anymore.

Kahil Gibran once said,” love knows not its own depth until the hour of separation”. This means we only know the depth of love once we lost it. People tend to take what they have for granted. When you don’t have that love with you anymore, you will start to realize how important that love was and regret that you let them go.

It is important that you value and be grateful for the relationship you have with the people around you. If you love someone, spend time with them. Show them that you appreciate their company, take care of them, and love them from the bottom of your heart.  Don’t wait until that person has gone and regret it afterward. Regrets cannot bring back those happy memories.
